Gas and Facilities Engineer

Job Title:        Gas and Facilities Engineers. 

Location:        Abuja. 

Type:               Full Time. 

Division:         Exploration. 

Our client is an Exploration and Production company in Oil & Gas and Energy sectors in Nigeria. 

 The company is looking for a Gas and Facilities Engineer who would be responsible for achieving sales goals by focusing on the management of existing customers, development of new opportunities, furthering strategic markets, and developing strong and rewarding internal and external customer relationships. Ensuring the safe, efficient, and cost-effective operation of oil and gas facilities. 

Responsibilities 

  • Designing and developing oil and gas facilities, including production platforms, pipelines, and processing plants.
  • Evaluating and improving the performance of existing facilities to optimize production and minimize costs.
  • Ensuring that facilities comply with safety, health, and environmental regulations.
  • Overseeing construction and installation of new facilities or upgrades to existing facilities.
  • Conducting inspections and audits to identify potential safety or environmental hazards.
  • Managing budgets and timelines for facility projects.
  • Providing technical expertise and support to other departments, such as drilling or production.
  • Collaborating with other engineers, project managers, and contractors to ensure successful project completion. 
  • Developing and implementing maintenance plans to ensure facilities are operating efficiently and effectively. 
  • Conducting risk assessments and developing contingency plans for emergencies or unplanned events.
  • Capital Facilities Engineer responsible for design packages and project management on projects to support new production via new facility builds and upgrades of Central Tank Batteries, Salt Water  Disposals, Fresh Water Ponds, and Pipelines. 
  • Responsible for design of new production facilities and upgrades to existing facilities that comply with COM, GLO, and LDAR requirements.
  • Manage all phases of new and existing facilities projects including FEED, economic evaluation, standards compliance, HAZID/ HAZOP, QA/QC, permitting, contractor selection.

Academic Qualification 

  • Bachelor’s degree in petroleum engineering or its equivalent in any discipline.
  • Master’s degree is an added advantage.

Experience  

  • 5 years of experience Gas and facility Measurement role.
  • Experience in working within the Oil & Gas Sector will be considered an important advantage.
  • Prior work experience showing increasing levels of responsibility with a focus on operations in a fast paced and entrepreneurial environment. 

Skills and Competencies 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft O365 suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Experience in Facility Engineering, Facility Design, CO2, Project Management.
  • Construction Cost Control, Project Estimation, Project Bidding
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, customer service, and sales skills.
  • The ability to relate technical information to non-technical customers.
  • Excellent technical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong critical thinking and negotiation skills.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Good knowledge of Project Management skills.

Remuneration: Between N14.4M and N18M gross per annum depending on experience and qualifications.
