Facilities Maintenance Officer

Our client, a residential Estate with over 300 units of Duplexes in Lekki (2nd Toll Gate Area) is looking for an experienced Facilities Maintenance Officer to oversee all estate facilities and infrastructures maintenance-related activities. You will be responsible for preserving the good condition of infrastructure and ensuring that facilities are safe and well-functioning.

The ideal candidate will be well-organized and able to optimize the use of space and equipment while reducing operating costs. Leadership abilities and phenomenal efficiency can set you apart among our candidate pool.

The goal is to ensure the estate facilities are well maintained, problem-free, and safe with zero downtime.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the Estate General Manager, the ideal candidate among other will be responsible for:

  • Monitoring the safety and cleanliness of the Estate’s common areas recreation spaces
  • Performing routine maintenance on facilities and making repairs as needed (Generators, Transformers, Water Systems, Sewage systems).
  • Scheduling routine inspections and emergency repairs with outside vendors
  • Ensuring proper security measures for the Estate, including collaborating with security system vendors or a team of security professionals.
  • Maintaining day-to-day operations of facilities, such as delegating or completing maintenance orders.
  • Creating reports on maintenance, repairs, safety and other occurrences for the Estate General Manager and other relevant staff
  • Collaborating with building owners, Estate General Manager and EXCO on budgeting for facility’s needs.
  • Manage the upkeep of equipment and supplies to meet health and safety standards.
  • Supervise all facilities staff (custodians, technicians, groundskeepers etc.) and external contractors.
  • Control and monitor activities like Car parking, waste disposal, building security, power meter installation and integrity.

REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS

  • Proven experience in facilities management in a residential estate.
  • Well-versed in technical/engineering operations and facilities management best practices
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • BSc/HND in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
  • Relevant professional qualifications (e.g., CMRP, IFMA FMP) will be an advantage.
  • Candidate must have excellent communication skills (verbal, nonverbal, interpersonal), enjoy working with others, pay close attention to details, and be organized.
  • Candidate must have Analytical skills, must possess the ability to work as a Team.
  • Candidate must have Proficiency in Microsoft suite.
