Our client, a business arm of a reputable Private University in Ogbudu, Cross River is seeking to hire an Experienced and result-driven Accountant to join their dynamic and growing team. The right candidate will identify, develop, build, manage & deliver business development sales targets for the institution, manage relationships with new & existing clients, generate new sales leads, & maintain relationships with new contacts, and develop & implement event-related sales & marketing initiatives to drive revenue and profitability.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with local regulations and company policies.
• Coordinate with external auditors to ensure timely completion of audits and compliance with statutory requirements.
• Develop and maintain financial controls and procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
• Analyze financial data and provide insights to management to support business decision-making and performance improvement initiatives.
• Prepare and review budgets and forecasts in collaboration with department heads and senior management.
• Monitor cash flow and manage banking relationships to optimize liquidity and minimize financial risk.
• Assist in the implementation and maintenance of accounting systems and software to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
• Stay updated on changes in local tax laws and regulations and ensure compliance in tax filings and reporting.
• Provide support and guidance to junior finance staff and other departments on financial matters as needed.

Requirements and Skills

1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; Being chattered is an added advantage.
2. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in accounting or finance roles, with at least 2 years of experience in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
3. Strong knowledge of accounting standards and regulations, including tax laws and reporting requirements.
4. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel.
5. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
6. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
7. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
8. Proven ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
9. High level of integrity and ethical conduct.
10. Ability to adapt to change and willingness to take on new challenges.

Remuneration: N300,000-N350,000 net per month
