Factory Accountant

Report to: Factory Manager/MD

Job Summary

Accountant  is responsible for the management and reporting of financial data of an organization. Their duties include preparing financial statements, examining and analyzing a company’s accounts and ensuring compliance with financial reporting and other standard accounting procedures.

• Manage all accounting transactions.
• Provide financial information to management by researching and analyzing accounting data.
• Prepare asset, liability, and capital account entries by compiling and analyzing account information.
• Utilize database software to organize financial account information.
• Prepare timely and detailed reports on financial performance Monthly, quarterly, and annually.
• Maintenance of financial ledgers and the accounting processes.
• Corporate and Personal Income Tax Administration.
• Preparation of budgets, forecasts, and cash flow reports.
• Publish financial statements in time.
• Oversee all internal control operations.
• Handle monthly, quarterly and annual closings.
• Reconcile accounts payable and receivable.
• Ensure timely bank payments.
• Compute taxes and prepare tax returns.
• Manage balance sheets and profit/loss statements.
• Report on the company’s financial health and liquidity.
• Audit financial transactions and documents.
• Reinforce financial data confidentiality and conduct database backups when necessary.

Work Experience Requirements

1. BSc in Accounting, Finance or relevant degree
2. 3 – 5 years of work experience as an Accountant
3. Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures, including the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
4. Hands-on experience with accounting software like FreshBooks and QuickBooks
5. Advanced MS Excel skills including Vlookups and pivot tables
6. Experience with general ledger functions
7. Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills
8. Additional certification (ACCAor ICAN) is a plus.

Remuneration: N300,000
